Goodies and Things

So, you found your way in here! Well we'll make it worth your while!

How about some tasty treats?

If your darling is of the canine persuasion consider the following:

Peanut Butter Dog Treats

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 cup chunky peanut butter

1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. In a large bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Use another bowl and combine the peanut butter and milk. Add the milk/peanut butter mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well. On a floured surface, turn out the dough and knead. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut out using your cookie cutters. Place on baking sheets and bake for 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Place on racks to cool and then store in airtight containers.

Or if you are feeling more courageous... Festive Pup Tarts .... dog heaven! Liver and Peanut Butter! You may want to decorate them with dog treats just to help your family realize they are for the dogs!

2 Cups of Whole Wheat Flour
2 Tablespoons of Liver Powder
1/3 cup oil
1 beaten egg
1 cup stock (beef, chicken, fish, even vegetable)
2 teaspoons of baking powder

Preheat the over to 350 degrees.

In a bowl combine the dry ingredients. Add your remaining ingredients and mix well. Fill your cupcake tins 2/3 full (you may want to use tart pans for small dogs and cupcake pans or even cake pans for big dogs). Bake 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the pan. Cool and then frost with Peanut Butter Frosting. Decorate with dog treats or biscuits.

Peanut Butter Frosting

1/3 cup of smooth or chunky Peanut Butter
1/3 cup of cream cheese

Blend together and use to frost cooled cupcakes. Assuming your puppy will wait that long!

Cat Lovin' Cheeselog ... perfect whether you love your cat or looking for something your cat will love

6 Tablespoons butter or oil
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 clove garlic minced

Blend the fat and cheese then stir in the garlic. Once well mixed and blended, add the flour. Mixture will be crumbly.

Shape into a log less than an inch around and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Once chilled, cut into slices of 1/2 thick and then bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Will make at least 2 dozen.
